This is Christie3's Mom. I am trying to figure out how to post one of Eric's pics from the GTG. I'm too cheap to pay for another DPC membership, so I'm not sure how to link to the image. Cristin is not home right now and I don't want to mess with her portfolio. I built our church website, so I could use that domain. Do I need to build a page with the photo on it and link to that, or do I just need to have the file in my directory and link to the file path? I'd appreciate anyone's help on this.

Thanks,
Wende

AWESOME photos! Mine look like total junk compared to yours!
And a huge congrats to Ryan on his ribbon--totally cool!

lol okay, here are a few of them, no pp at all yet--trying to get em up quick for mick to see em! : )
There's some from the first batch. : )

Edit:
took out the pics cuz they're all junk and I couldn't stand looking at them any more.
Here are some semi-decent ones that I edited last night:

all the old ones can still be seen here: //www.dpchallenge.com/portfolio.php?USER_ID=13026&collection_id=8231
I just couldn't stand having all my junk up here with everyone else's amazing photos. :P

Delightful photos Christin! Thanks for posting. I've enjoyed opening images from that spectacular evening we shared together, seeing through the eyes of fellow DPC folks the glory which I enjoyed. What a grand time! Here's to the next Oregon DPC GTG!

Good work Christin! My wife and I really enjoyed meeting and hanging out with you and your dad. I hope you both can make it to the next one.
06/16/2005 08:51:56 PM · #34
Thanks Mr. Robinson and Mick!
My dad and I really REALLY had fun on Saturday. Everyone over here at my house is saying,"Would you PLEASE stop talking about the get together already??" : )
I hope everyone else can get to the next one, it sounds like it's gonna be fun, too--only a month to wait! (or somewhere around there, lol) I'm starting my countdown! hehe
06/16/2005 09:11:03 PM · #35
I'm looking forward to the next one, and I hope to see you and your dad there. BTW, is your dad still going to post his photos? (Note: older people sometimes need help with "that computer thingamajig") :)
06/16/2005 09:16:23 PM · #36
lol Yeah I'm sorry--I forgot about his pics, I uploaded them to my portfolio so he could get them up here, and then forgot to get em on so everyone could see them.
So, anyways, here they are:

They turned out pretty nice, huh? : )

Great shots Eric! Is it my monitor, or is there a violet line across the top of your "beach--eric" shot?
06/16/2005 10:09:29 PM · #38
Yeah, there is a line there, I didn't notice it until I opened it up big on DPC here.
Glad you liked them, Mick! I'll have to tell my dad that. He was pretty happy with how they turned out, since his light meter was broken and all that jazz.

That's really too bad Perry--the four that you found are beautiful! It's funny, I read that earlier and I thought,"Whoa! That sounds just like me!" because I've got my camera set in Italian to enhance my language skills, too, as you put it. But so far I haven't deleted ALL my pictures...I've done stupid things before, though, because I couldn't figure out what was going on, lol.

Ryan, congrats on another ribbon! Looks like the Oregon GTG was an inspired outing (must have been Cristin's apple crisp ).

Thanks, Zoom.

I FINALLY HAVE DSL WOO-FRICKIN'-HOO!

I can finally upload stuff at a decent speed!

Hey, Zoomdak, can I ask you a favor? I have a 17 MB panorama that I can't keep anywhere at full resolution. Could you host it for me for a while until I finally get around to having my own website? E-mail me and let me know. Thanks.

Here's my contribution, long in coming.

The "red" version of my blue ribbon darkness shot.

He he. I might start a feather theme and see where that gets me!

Best conversation of the evening:
As we stopped, walking along a trail on the side of a hill:

NovaTiger: "Why are we stopped?"
Madhatter: "There was a cool snail back there that I wanted to take a picture of...but you stepped on it."

Great shots Ryan! And a big high-5 on your blue ribbon! You should measure your head every hour or so for the next few days. If it starts getting too big you might need to get to a doctor quickly. Brain explosions are no laughing matter. :)

I think you get the ribbon for the best sunburst photo with this shot:

I really like the 'Leap Frog' shots too:

I almost entered this one in the Darkness challenge. I wonder if it would have done better than my 'Grok the Dark' shot. Oh well, 11th place isn't too bad.

Lol. You're totally right. I hope that wasn't a subtle indicator of offense. If I wrote something somewhere that did, I sincerely apologize. I would really appreciate it if you let me know where I wrote it and I will change it immediately so that others will not also be offended. No, I hope that I have adequately conveyed that I feel that earning the blue was, well...I feel privelaged to be able to claim a yellow let alone a blue. I wonder if that's the best way to say it? When I saw my first I ran down stairs to tell my parents--practically in histerics, "I got first, I got first! Holy shit I got first!"

Oh yeah, Zoomdak, post that one of me hanging onto the edge of that cliff? Just curious to see how it turned out and if it was worth more dirt on my camera.

Lol Thomas! Glad y'all liked it.
CONGRATS RYAN!!! On your 2 ribbons *and* your DSL, lol--it makes everything sooo much nicer, huh? My fam just got DSL and wow--it's way nicer than that stupid dial-up we used to have.
I was almost in hysterics when you won that blue--it was like 11:30 when I checked the Darkness scores, my parents were getting ready for bed, and I nearly shouted,"Oh my GOSH--Ryan got BLUE!!!! Right after yellow--come look at it!!"
At first they were like, "Cristin stop shouting and go to bed," but then they saw it and got pretty excited too. :)
Anyways. Congratulations again! That is way too cool--maybe some of us will get ribbons at this coming up GTG, too.. :P

I love your pics, too, and I agree with Mick--you got the best (or at least one of the best) sunburst shot, that's fo' sho'. Awesome!

I think I need to buy myself an F717, it looks like it takes some nice shots, here...My fancy expensive DSLR isn't producing shots half that good! lol

LOL! No Ryan, you haven't said or done anything to offended me. I was just joking with the 'big head' thing. Enjoy your ribbons! Heck, go ahead and shout it from the roof tops if you feel like it. I won't have to hear you because I'm too far away. :)

Wow, all of the pictures are just great. You sound like everyone had a great time. I loved the conversation about the snail.

One more GTG pic I discovered while going through my gazillion pics:

lol at the pic of Ryan! And I love the snail conv. too, teehee.
Is the panorama from the GTG? If so, can't wait to see it!
06/26/2005 06:51:56 PM · #50
I wish I could've been there. But I'll come to the next one! Poor leetle snail.
Cristin, you have more stuff on our computer than everyone else combined!!
