I'm at 232 votes in the Fauna challenge. There is only about 24 hours left of voting and I was hoping that the numbers would be closer to 300 because there is 316 entries. I know that things come up and not everyone can vote on everything, but I just am wishing that closer to the amount of people that submitted would vote as well.

Yes I find that a little disappointing too. Altought I didn't get a chance to submit a photo for the Fauna challenge, I did take the time to Vote.
Like you said, things do come up, but I think people who are submitting into the challenge, should make an effort to participate in it. Even if you don't think you know what you are doing, it is nice to get everyones opinion, since you are asking for theirs. =o)

I'm on 229 - which I suspect means about 300 people will have voted on some or all of the photos. Don't forget the dial-up users possibly won't have a whole 24 hours to commit to voting, and one doesn't have to vote on every shot.
Oh, and there are four challenges this week!
