You need to be careful about making duplicate threads too ;o) Nice shot tho, how long was the exposure? And did you use a polariser or ND filters?

I love waterfalls and pictures of them. I don't know what it is about this shot. The left of the picture seems detached from the right. As if it were two separate scenes. I'm not saying that it is, it just looks, I don't know how to put it. I guess the best way would be Flat on the left and dimensional on the right.
Was this a small amount of water running over the fall and a long exposure. I suppose that could make the effect look like that. Or maybe it the lighting in a dense foliage area. Nice Shot anyway. Good capture.

It's actually the world's tallest man-made waterfall! Perhaps that's why it looks detached to you - or probably my composition. It's in a natural rainforest ironically:)) |

I'm still looking at it, that shows it will hold someones attention and a good shot. I think I know what is distracting me (other than just waking up:)) To the right of the waterfall it looks like vines or shadows that are competing with the waterfall. They seem to separate the photo. Or maybe it the illusion of a mans face staring at me in that area. Still a great shot. I wish I could take waterfall pictures that good.
Mans Face

Thanks Scott for taking the time and trouble;)
Yea I can see the face too - that's the third 'face' I've seen this week in various images!
The people who created this fall were a little too precise with their creation! You are right - to the right of the fall is a wall jutting out at 90 degrees, which doesn't happen in nature and that's partly what is making you feel there is something not right.
Thanks again;) |
