hi,
This is my first post on this website and have been an observer for a few weeks now. I bought my camera close to a month ago and have been taking many photos and I think these may be the best ones. I would like to get an idea, from a photographer's point of view, of how I am doing, considering I have just started. So anything you think is missing or needed please feel free because i would like comments bad and good so I can learn how to do better.
-Christian
PS:Do you guys think this is good for a 15 year old?//abstractcreator.tripod.com/photos/index.album?i=0 |

Th only thing that I could say so far is that watch out at the background, it is very distracting in both shots, also you can bump up the contrast to get more dramatic colors, other than that are good shots.
Take a look around this site and you will learn a lot...
And welcome! |

Good start!
I think the second one is stronger - it has better detail on the dragonfly, the composition is stronger and the background works better to support rather than compete with the foreground.
We have a number of incredibly talented teenage members in our DPC community - take a look at Konador's work for one example and you'll see how much he's learned and grown and improved in the years he has been here. His current body of work easily rivals many adults who have been into photography for years... (blows my stuff right out of the water and on up into the clouds!)
There's another great teen photog here but I'm senile and I can't for the life of me recall his name.
Anyway, this is a great place to learn and I'm sure you'll get lots of help! Just don't get discouraged if you don't win ribbons or rank as high as you'd like at first - it's a competitive site and it takes time to learn what works best with the voters!

I wasn't but, yes he is!
The person I have in mind is about same age as Ben (Konador), unusually eloquent for his age and I haven't seen him about for a while...
