Yes I noticed that the other member with a recent double banger, Xilebo is from Iceland as well. That country seems to produce some really talented photographers. Congratulations. |

Thanks everyone for the votes and the heartwarming comments. I was very pleasantly surprised with the results in the Decision challenge.
Both photographs were shot in the same session. Some days are better than others :-)
Thanks again

Maybe it's only genetic, even though I'm Icelandic 100%, I don't live in Iceland and I do live in almost desert :) still find lots to photograph.
There is something about Icelanders though, because of the small population and the isolation, most people have to try harder and learn more.

It must have something to do with living on a Mid-Ocean Ridge. For those of you that don't know, North & South America were split away from Europe and Africa along a break in the earth's crust which is still active today and runs north-south down the centre of the Atlantic ocean. As this break spreads apart, molten rock oozes up and creates new ocean-floor. Iceland is part of this break (the only part, I think) which is above ocean level. So this crazy island is spreading apart while lava fills in. Isn't that just about the most amazing thing you can imagine?
My conclusion is that, under the constant threat of horrible, fiery death at any moment, Icelanders live life to the fullest extent possible!
