Does it count against me if I don't remember the lense I used to take a pic submitted in a challenge? I mean if I put the wrong lense when I submit it is that bad or just dumb?

I don't think it matters, if you're not sure, I wouldn't put anything down. |

That's fine. The lens is optional information.
If you need to submit proof for any reason you might want to include the correction in your details to be safe, but to be honest it probably won't matter.

the exif data gives you the focal length used for capture. this will give you clue to which lens you used, unless you have several lenses which cover that focal length
edit: typo

Just curious .. I am able to see what lens I used in the EXIF info, not just the focal length. Canon does it differently? |

I think I do see the lens info as well ( depending upon which software I use, not all s/w read the exif the same way), but since I wasn't sure about this, I only talked about the focal length, which I know is always present. |

Thanks all! I was able to figure it out. I remembered being able to see the lense data but was working in PI at the time. I went back and looked using the Canon software and it told me the lense. Then when I went back into PI I noticed that I can select which EXIF data is shown and the list is long - I had no idea. SO I selected ALL that had data in for the majority of shots I have.
Thanks for the responses/help/suggestions. I appreciate it.
