I don't see the Sony Wide Conversion Lens VCL-HGD0758 x0.7.
If it's not there, can you add it? Thanks.

Apparently the sc can't add a lens, I think you'll have to email D or L... or use the 'contact' option under 'help'.

We can... but I don't know whether we're adding wide/tele converters for fixed-lens cameras or just actual lenses.

Well, the telephoto is already listed. No big deal, just thought I'd update a bit. Thanks anyway.

Right now there's no way to add a converter lens. This goes for teleconverters, extension tubes, diopters, etc. for DSLRs as well. When you consider all the possibilities that the various accessories open up, implementation would be very complex indeed.
The way to handle this is to put it in the details for the shot.

But one of the conversion's is already listed.

Strange... wonder why these two threads caused me so many problems then:
//www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=208766
//www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=208938

Sometimes it's hard not to take it personally but I'll assume this was a communication breakdown.

Drew's reply pretty much answers your question:

Site Council does not read every thread (especially now that Report Post exists) and I see no evidence that anyone on Site Council ever saw the first thread at all.

In the second thread, I asked for antother lens to be added. Since a sc member commented after the request and it wasn't added, I'm sure you can see my confusion as I had to contact Drew again to get the lens added.
So it really wasn't that clear... but everything has been cleared up now.

Oh no! Bobster has uncovered our secret...we aren't perfect. ;) glib response aside, I can promise that nobody was trying to ignore your request. Odds are kirbic thought the second lens had been added.

As for the other converter style lenses that have been added. We have some logistical concerns as kirbic mentioned. Without going into too much technical detail, to support accessories like teleconverters and such for SLR lenses, we need to completely rework the database architecture. So the initial discussion had been not to allow converters at all. Odds are in the initial flurry of "oh add this" several converters for point and shoot cameras got added.

Marjo- you are one hundred percent correct- the other lens is there. Be patient with us for a little bit while we make sure we can continue to support adding these style of lenses in the future. This is still a pretty new feature, and as you can see some of the kinks still need to be ironed out.

Thanks for your patience! :)

I wasn't having a go... just pointing out that it had been unclear. As I said in my previous post, it is clear now. Thanks for the ongoing support.

Okey dokey...as I said before, not a big deal.
It is a big deal when you refer to my Sony 717 as a point and shoot. lol It's more than that to ME, anyway.

While you guys are at it, any chance of getting Nippon Kogaku 20mm f/3.5 Nikkor-UD Auto on the list?
It's a very old lens. I have been using it for challenges too.
