Lots of times when I am reading a thread I get struck by an idea and would like to have it linked to the original thread. I know, you can just link to it, but this is different. The best way i can explain it is by, you guessed it, a screen shot (I bet you were all thinking photo). So, if you were looking at the thread listing you would see something like this when a thread has been 'branched' from another:
and when reading a thread, at the point the person branched off would look like this:
This would require putting another option when you want to post called, you guessed it, Branch.
An example of where I last thought of this was in THIS THREAD at the point where greatandsmall posted her spider picture. I immediatley wanted to branch to a new thread to post spider pics so the main thread would stay on topic and continue but a linked thread would start with spider pics.
Just a thought.

Oh God please no....I love it just the way it is now, and that just looks too confusing to my simple mind.
