Ok, I am new to my camera and have read a lot of the posts/threads on cleaning I can find. But none, or at least I have not found it yet, that seem to address what I am seeing.
Knowns:
It is not lense related as it is there no matter what lense I use
It is not sensor related as it is never in any pictures
It is not mirror related as it is never in any pictures
It is not view glass related as that has been cleaned and inspected under magnification (20x, 100x, 500x)
Yet:
When I look through the glass to focus, I see a very distinctive spot at lets say the 9 o'clock position and another, although smaller, at the 3 o'clock position.
If it doesn't show up in any pictures should I be worried?
Can someone tell me where I might clean to remove them as they are annoying as hell?
Should I send the camera back as defective/take it to the dealer?
They have been there since the first time I turned on the camera 4 days ago.

sometimes there is dust attached to the actual AF sensor point plastic or whatever u call it. i dont know how to explain it. lets say u take your lens off, turn the camera upside down and look inside toward the top part, where the mirror reflects the image up to, sometimes there is dust there that will show up in the viewfinder. hope that horrible explaination helps.

Dust on the mirror will not show up in pictures. The mirror is only used to reflect the image up to the viewfinder, and is out of the optical path when in the "up" position.

Ok, sorry, mis-stated. The mirror has also been cleaned and inspected same as the view glass.

If they are way OOF, they may be on the inside of the viewfinder lens. If they are in focus, they are probably on the viewfinder side of the focusing screen. Not having seen them, it's kinda hard to spec-u-late (sorry, couldn't resist).
If they really really bug you, see if it can be cleaned. I wouldn't risk exchanging a camera for something this minor, especially since dut is likely to get in there again (you should see my old film camera...)

They are always in focus, never in a pic, do not really want to exchange camera, to spec-u-late was perfectly ok.
(nice one!)
