Ha! I live in Ohio, the road construction capital of the world. This shouldn't be too much of a problem.
There's a joke about the 4 seasons of Ohio: almost winter, winter, just after winter, and road construction.
edit: I suppose I could put this under "current challenge" but I'm just going to let this one stay where it is.

The reason our roads are so good is because they don't ever stop working on them. I've never seen a summer where there wasn't some major road project within 20 miles

I can't believe they used one of my challenge recomendations and used the description almost word for word! Sorry folks, this one's my fault. :-P

don't you love it when you see the challenge and an idea instantly pops into your head... not only an idea but a specific place and subject? I'm kinda excited!

Nothing to apologize for. I'm glad they put this one up. I am kinda tired of seeing the same types of pictures in challenge after challenge. No blossoms, no kid portraits, no sunsets, and no studio set-ups for a change. Maybe not even the totally black or totally white backgrounds that have become so commonplace.

This information may be somewhat premature for this particular challenge. . . but it is certainly relevant.
A man from San Francisco purchased an 1874 Victorian Mansion here in Medina, Oh and is moving it to California to be re-constructed on a hilltop in Sonoma County. The interior fixtures have already been sent. Once the rest of the walls are down it will be trucked to Sonoma and reconstructed (like a paint by number picture). If there are any dpc members up in that area, I would certainly be interested in seeing periodic photos posted of the reconstruction and final product. |

Now now there, don't count your votes too soon - i was gonna go at sunset with my kids...now i have to take the dog and find some flowers. Perhaps i could get the kids to chalk up some flowers on a steel girder...oooh, i could 'frame' that and have two entries...

You should be proud to take the blame...after all, we did ask for something less abstract and what could be more concrete than, well, concrete!

Prof-Fate,
I am Cleveland, Ohio born and raised but I will have to concede this to a Pennsylvanian. . . you have us beat in the road construction department. Just got back (4 days ago) from Hershey, PA to buy a chocolate bar. Going east on Rt 80 was a massive (1 mile) traffic jam caused by about two miles of orange barrels reducing that side to one lane.
Going west, I clobbered one of your deer. . . causing a traffic jam behind me. It is going to be one of the most expensive candy bars I have ever purchased. But on almost every route our GPS told us to take we encountered orange barrels. |

Usually when this happens to me there are at least four other photos with the same idea.
