I can't afford to turn my basement into a studio yet ( hopefully someday) so I thought I would do some kind of "mobile" or "on site " photography. I know some of you advertise on your business cards that you do this. I would like to hear suggestions about lighting equipment, (or on camera flash) backdrops, reflectors whatever equipment works well in these situations. And if anyone has any unique ideas of the kinds of photographs to be taken with a business that comes to the customer?

There are many lighting kits that come in portable bags that you can carry around. What you need to transport around would be the same as what you would need for your studio - the difference being the initial space and the people you visit may not have that space either.

It sounds like you need to work out what photography you want to be involved with, work out whether it is something that can be done on-site, and buy the appropriate lighting for that kind of work.

For doing outdoor portraits in a park setting or similar, a nice set of reflectors and stands would be a good start.
