I just got a polarizer, and was wondering if I should remove my UV filter before using it, or can I use both together?

You can use both, but the more glass you put in front of the lens, the lower quality the resulting photo becomes.

The only problem that might come up when using both is vignetting. I rarely remove the UV when using the polarizer though may get better pictures if I did.

I'd advise against it. The stacked filters may cause vinetting, where you can see the metal rim of the filters plus it may theorhetically degrade the quality of the picture as the light travels through more glass.

Good points. I think I will remove the UV when I use the polarizer. Thanks all.

Still a filter question.

Different, though.

When taking photos of the hot air balloon fest - very early am - things were ok at first. But after just a short while my UV filter started to fog up (on the outside). So much so I had to take it off.

The air was cold - but not frigid. And it did not start fogging immediatley. After a few shots that were ok I started noticing the fog.

Have you had this happen? How did you "fix" it?

Which leads me to another question. Can someone recommend a decent camera/lens cleaning kit? Not for the sensor (that will come later) - but for the camera and lenses in general.

Thanks!

Rain-X makes an antifog...have to check if it is compatible with optics though.
I've used a sunglasses antifogger on a UV lens...no noted change in it.
