It is just a 2X teleconverter that would extend the focal length of a lens.
For example a 300mm lens would be 600mm.

It looks like a 2x teleconverter. It would be used to double your optical zoom.

is that a good thing? To be able to zoom to 600? I have a eos 500n and i have a 75-300 lens with it. Do you think the detail would be any good?

In general teleconverters are not used on SLRs but on P & S cameras.
I have a Canon 1.75x teleconverter for my G3. When used on an SLR lens the image is very distorted.

Also, it says it's for the F system which I believe is pre-EOS so may not work very well on an EOS camera. If you can find it locally you could try before you buy.

You are talking apples and oranges-- your Canon 1.75 TC was designed for a point and shoot-- It threads on the end of the lens..
The Tamron listed is made Just for an SLR, I own the 1.4--
Teleconverters are very common for SLR's--

I second what buzzrock says. I own a Tamron 1.4 and use it with my Tamron 200-500 zoom. Great for wildlife and birds as long as the light is good. Downfall of teleconverters for SLR's is that you lose some of the sharpness and get slower autofocus out of you lenses.

My bad. Excuse the misinformation.
This one says it's for the F system. Would that work on an EOS camera?

generally you avoid these sort of things with zoom lenses, they just work better with primes.

1.4-1.5 teleconvertor = -1 F-Stop
2.0 teleconvertor= -2 F-Stop |

EF is the new mount versus the Older FD--
The Eos 500n or also known as the Rebel G, is the EF mount--
Its hard to tell by that listing if they mean "F" mount as in EF or FD??
Im assuming the newer EF.. |
