When I got up this morning (6:50) the challenge was not posted yet. Not worried I carried out my plan and was happy that it was sunny for a change (we have had rain here for the whole month). I ended up in Bennington and shot some moose and then back home for coffee.
While drinking coffee I decide to peruse DCP and yes the challenge has been posted. Immediately I think of the shots of earlier and realize I have the perfect shot (or so I think anyway and based on my challenge submissions this is very subjective).
So after coffee I go back to Bennington and try and reshoot the shot I want to use and unfortunately there is way too much pedestrian traffic on the streets and people are just too curious as to what exactly I am shooting. No one asks, but all want to stand there and look.
Anyway I get a shot, edit it, submit it and then realize that I am the first to submit to the challenge and literally hours after it was issued. Is this a bad thing?

I like your story and was trying to imagine how frustrating it must have been to have a bunch of people gawking while you were trying to shoot. It made me think what I would do if that happened to me.
I think I would set up my shot and then swivel around 180 degrees and feign great interest in something else until they all went over there. Then I'd turn back around and finish my original shot.
Can't wait to see what you got. I don't think it's a bad thing. You'd be a great candidate for something like a 3 hour speed challenge. |

I reckon you can use your original shot if it was shot on the right date. The time the challenge was posted does not matter since you are still within the submission dates, albeit simply by luck!

Just curious if this should be called the Framing 2 challenge? Is the only difference that the word "foreground" was used in the last challenge?

No, the very important difference is that the frame is to be "found" which means no broken tv's used as a frame, etc. etc.
