Starting the outtakes early since I liked this image and it was captured 12 hours before the challenge started. :)

The Saguaro Cactus Blossom is the State Flower of Arizona. It is unique because each individual blossom opens for only about 18 hours.

It opens at night and closes forever by late afternoon the next day. It is pollinated by bats, birds and bees.

Saguaros blossom during May and June and produce a red fruit used to make jams, jellies and MARGARITAS! :)
