results of an attempt at making a black and white image using raw shooter essentials, and maintaining 16bit mode until saving for the web.
saved BW TIFF, and applied curves and USM in PS6.
tough guy
and a 100% crop of the same image, before curves and USM.

anyone else use this method before?
i'm not sure how the newer PS versions handle 16bit files.

I use RSE but have not tried it for B/W conversion. Looks like it worked well so I'll have to give it a try.
