There was dinner, and there was dessert... Make of it what you will.

So are you the cook? or is your wife the cook? if you both cook, who is the better chef?

I need these answered so I can sleep tonight, or else I will be up paceing.

Well, just so ya know, I went out this evening for beer & pizza with the neighbor guys. I consumed my weight in beer. Well, my dog's weight anyway. Ok, my DSLR's weight.

It's good that we're seeing other people. Wait a minute...Dessert? You didn't mention dessert! Is it too late to stop by?

I have no wife, I live alone. The lady in question is a friend. I'm a former professional chef, I'm pretty skilled. She's no slouch either, though. We worked together on this one, because it was the companionable thing to do. When I was married, I did almost all the cooking; I was far better at it than the wife, and enjoyed it more besides (which, of ocurse, is the key...)

Not until the paw-controlled van is delivered. Her deformity keeps her from using conventional pedals... As YOU should know, Ken!

Sorry bear. Very insensitive of me. :(
My apologies to Karma also. I know how she feels. I lost my ass in some tech stocks a couple years back. :)

It's called "dawn" and it's a very good time to take pictures.

Niman Ranch bacon, shredded potato pancakes, and a simple cheese omelet, to answer the other question.

The rest of you may have to settle for Mexican, Italian, French, Pacific Rim Fusion, or good ol' BBQ, depending on my mood and yours.

All I ask is that the guests provide food. I'm on a very limited income, but I can cook :-)

sorry man, hope life is good now.

anyway, it seems more and more of us red brothers are the cooks in our domain.

I mean, who needs tv dinners and pizza when you can do wonders with ground turkey?

but this query comes to mind now, and yes I am paceing and sucking on my thumb at the same time. I will be doing this until you answer, or I lose interest.

All my life I have been taught that men are the "hunters", and women are the "gatherers".

As men become more profitient in cooking meals, are we now both the hunter and gatherer? If so, I am not doing anymore dirty dishes.

Be careful Bear, you will be cooking for 3000 + if you keep this up.

I, being female, do the cooking the cooking and the driving around here, as well as doing my part of the gathering. Partner being barely able to boil water (and preferring not to) and a totally inept driver having spent too much time driving on the opposite site of the road (not saying right or wrong side, as that depends on ones perspective)he cannot be trusted to drive on the right side which is correct in the US of A. I will say; I do the fixing and he does the cleaning up after (only fair).

Well, let's see... To frame this in modern terms, I let the wimmen in my life grow the herbs and veggies, so that plcase them in the "gatherer" category. I do the marketing (got to, or I get all sorts of crap dumped on me) and that's basically the modern equivalent of "hunting"... I also fish, for what that's worth, though not very much lately.

I donno how cooking fits into allt hat, though, except that it FOR SURE attracts even more wimmen into my life, with more and better herbs and veggies, because they DO love a man who cooks with passion and conviction. So, in Darwinian terms, for we modern men cooking is the equivalent of the peacock's tail... Of course, I'm well past breeding age now, but the principle obtains.

Speaking of tail... do tell my dear friend Robert... have you ever had BBQ'ed pig's tail. I know this may sound a tad gross to some, but it truly is quite good.

(hehehehee.... bet some folks probably thought I was going somewhere else with that thought huh... ???)

i sure did ray but that would loop us back over to the viagra warning thread....

Viagra warning.... is that about the possibility of blindness thing... I don't believe it for a minute...

My mom told me the same thing about some other thing that would make me blind when I was a kid......and since I always believed what my mom said... I decided to risk an eye... never happened....

This is probably the same thing. Its an old wives tail...or is that tale... designed to dissuaded old men from seeking old wives tail.... hehehehehehe
