What site do you use for online portfolio, at what price and what do you like/dislike in it (limited quantaty of photos, etc.)?
Plesae post your online portfolio so we all can see.

Mine's a Flash 'placeholder' site (until I find time to beef it up) on my company server.
jonathanlucas.com
Otherwise, I find Flickr is by far the best site. It allows full resolution uploads and unlimited storage space - for free. The free version is limited to 100 images viewable to the public, but you can keep uploading indefinitely for storage. Alternativley, an upgrade of around $25 isn't bad for a remote backup of your valuable files.

I use smugmug for everything. $30/year for unlimited space is excellent. I also love the fact that it is very customizable and you can protect certain galleries you don't want everyone to see. Also you can order a backup copy on DVD if you need it.

I've also been playing with PostcardViewer, which is quite funky.

I'm currently using Smugmug for my online galleries since my clients can purchase online and the photos are sent to them directly from the lab.
My smugmug website is here, but all of my galleries, (at the moment) are private and password protected at the request of the clients. Sorry.
I plan to use this until my regular webhost can support galleries. Smugmug was affordable ($99 for 1 year), and more suited to my galleries than something like Pictage. Pictage seemed too "high-end" for me at this time.

Just a warning: Beware of free hosts, their licence agreements sometimes grants them a perpetual non-exclusive copyright of images you upload.

I use Sony's Image Station. It is free and you may submit for a daily contest as well. I won a camera there for best POTD of January, 2005.

i have just done my first website with betterphotos.com... i get my own name for the website, and got to choose the colour and layout.. ( from their choice's, but found it just what i wanted, simple and easy to use, with no complicated stuff ) for $199 a year i think it's around 1000 photos, plenty for me, and because they have their own internationl site, i also get the extra traffic from their site.... anyway, choose for yourself www.kellymuncephotography.com |

Paul, I know you are aware any image on any site can be captured and "used, manipulated or reproduced" by anyone else with a computer.
First, my images on the Sony site are extremely small and of low resolution. I doubt Sony will make much by selling my images as postcards. Second, I would be flattered if they adopted one of my images for their use, just as I would if one was awarded a ribbon on this site and then displayed for the world to see or highlighted on a page of National Geographic as an award winner. Third, My work shall always be my work, never to be "stolen from" me or somehow wrested away from its origin. It is intrinsic and must always find its way back to me. Fourth, fact of the matter is; I borrowed most of those images from God to begin with. I am sure glad God doesn't have the same propesity for ownership squabbles that mankind seems to foster and feed.

Not without breaking the law.

That's fine. As long as you know; that was my only reason for posting.

Id reccommend to host it yourself if you have a little bit of patience, with apache, you can do it for free right off your windows machine.
for only less than $8 more you can also buy your own domain name for an entire year.

Are you sure about that? I checked flickr and my understanding was that once you posted an image for public viewing you could never take it down.

smugmug.com
It's an excellent site, lots of storage, easy to upload, easy to manage photos.
They offer a free 7 day trial. After one hour, I knew I wasn't going to cancel my subscription.
here's mine
