Once again, you folks here at DPC have shown why this site and this community of people just downright have no equal anywhere.
My bud Toocool brought to light the fact that my monitor bit the dust, and therefore I was going to be out of commission for awhile. Well, faster than a page can refresh there was an overwhelming response from you people offering advice, help, extra monitors, cash for shipping, anything to solve my problem. It is unbelievable the concern, care, support, help, and heart that you all give so freely. I have been really down and feeling totally on the short end of the 'lucky' stick in recent times, and things like this really have a profound, uplifting impact on me. This is the second time, recently, that I have been blessed to be the recipient of the generosity, and love (yes, I said love) of you all, my DPC family. I am very grateful and very blessed to be a part of this awesome group and awesome site. Thank - you so very much.
Oh...I guess I didn't say, the problem has been solved. Superdave 909 had an extra monitor lying around, and was a short 30-40 min. drive south of me. I drove down this evening and got to meet Dave and picked up the monitor, and obviously am hooked up and back in operation :-) As a sidenote to this meeting, Toocool, Superdave and I briefly discussed arranging a dpc get together in this area. Cool.
I'd like to mention everyone that responded, but the list is pretty long, a full couple pages in that thread, but I have gone and read it through and thank you to all. I truly do appreciate it. I hope that someday soon I can be in the position to give back also and be able to help out some of my brothers and sisters in need.
And a very special thanks to Toocool, Superdave 909, and lhall. I better go ahead and post this before I start crying and short out my keyboard!!! hehehe
Thanks you all :-) :-) :-)

Dude, you're makin' me blush! Seriously though, sometimes when things are hard ya just gotta bite it and ask for help. I knew things are tough for ya and I couldn't help out personally so... I asked for help. This community is so tight I knew that we could somehow come through for ya!
Edited to add: For all those that offered to help and especially for Superdave, this rounds on me! \_/ \_/ \_/\_/ \_/ \_/ \_/ Drinks on Cool!

Who'd have thought... an online community that's actually a community.
This is another fantastic tale. |

I think most DPCers have experienced something like what you've experienced. There is a genuine concern for other members in the community on this site which is one of the reasons it's so great (I plan on becoming a member as part of my 'new camera expense').
I recently asked for advice on said new camera (and the obligatory lenses etc. that go with it) and I got an unbelievable response. People responded in extensive detail, giving me specifications, features and prices as well as explaining the pros and cons of particular cameras and lenses.
I share your grateful sentiments :)

I know I have loads of keyboards around. Sorry about my mishap with my monitor. You probably would have been better off doing like you done. FedEx rates for a monitor about the average weight are very high. Anyway I am glad you are back. Enjoy it. Love to the whole DPC Family.

Glad your back but please keep the crying down. I'm down to about 10 spare keyboards and am a little worried how many people will need them. Those I can ship for free at least... or almost free.
edit: Oh yea, my advice to you is to pay it forward instead of paying it back. Even if it has nothing to do with this site always try to help someone else out.
