I added a few new shots to my portfolio (just enough to replace all the old stuff that sat on my profile page). To me they are some of the best examples of how much I have learned in the post-processing realm with Photoshop. Earlier attempts with Nikon Editor and Paint Shop Pro were bland, shadowy, and in one case, so off-color balance that the image appeared to have been shot through a thick fog.

Appreciate any comments on them if anyone is bored.

OK,JD, this is what I see.

I see alot of potential. thats the good news. (gulp)

(Don't hit me!)

Here is the critique. (gulp, gulp)

Alot of the stuff you have for sale, I have to ask myself "who would buy such a thing?" I.E., 'Doctor Floyds Beacon', 'Wentworth inverted', 'Perspectives', and a couple more.

I see other stuff and I ask myself "why arn't these up for sale", I.E., 'The Cats Meow', 'Time Closes In', 'Clubs and Whiskey', that was it.

I absolutely dislike your 'visitor parking', and the 'Red Hook Brewery', its just me.

Your PS in the money series is ok, but your 'Longhorn' I like.
At least it looks like you put some PS in it.

I won't comment on the rest for fear of being put in a full nelson.

Hey I ain't hurting at all from the commentary and actually happy as heck that someone is willing to take the time and be honest enough to offer some good ideas. In fact, I've been thinking a lot on the same lines as you. I think Awpollard recently did a wipe of prints and portfolio and it got me to thinking I should do the same. Most of what I have were early experiments and some are just there to prove to me that I could 'save' a bad shot with some PS. And I'll be the first to admit that most of what I get to shoot is only stock quality and not art in any sense of the word.

My biggest problem is that I see none of my stuff as really 'print worthy' except for my own wall or photo album. That's one of the reasons I'm going back to rework stuff.

Feel free to be as honest and blunt in any commentary you choose on my stuff. I'm here to learn and couching the truth will only lead me to think that the unacceptable or lackluster is better than what it is. I'd rather be pushed to go beyond.
