I was never much of a bird watcher until I started trying to photograph them. I put up a few feeders in the yard. Now, I could watch them all day.
Here's a few from my Pbase gallery. Feel free to post your bird shots.

We have a couple bird feeders and suet hangers and I love to sit on the sunporch and watch all the birds. We have about 8 or 9 different kinds of birds that come, Mr. and Mrs., and a bunch of starlings that scare everything else away. I'm moving soon and my new backyard will be a great bird place but the people who live there now don't have any feeders up. I almost want to go over now and set some up so that by the time we move there, the birds will have discovered them!
Nice shots. Are these through the window or were you outside? |

I set up a small tent in the yard, and left it near the feeders for a few days. Then on my day off I get before dawn, have coffee in the tent and wait for sunrise and the birds.

Got em at work too...
Actually I have a hummingbird feeder at work with the little bee keepers off as I found there are serveral Yellow Orioles that just love the thing. However, Camera = No birds or Birds = No Camera, but I will get some shots to post here in the next day or two.

well we had a feeder until the squirrels chewed through the rope and sent it crashing to the ground. Now we just spread the seed out on the ground in a spot that I have not planted grass since the hot tub was removed.

Great shots spyder! I have a wonderful German Shepherd Girl, but she loves to chase away all birds :(
I managed to catch a cardinal building a nest, but it wasn't sturdy, so she left. I just bought a feeder (came today) for the very purpose of photographing the birds. Now, to put it in a place my crazy dog cannot get to :)

My Dane loves to chase them too Ingrid. I have to keep her in the house when I'm shooting. Then she stands at the door and whines because I'm outside without her.
Here's a few more

Nice shots, even the dreaded cowbird which are very bad birds...Around here we even have a cowbird relocation program (bounty) for them as they are killing off the local song bird population... bad bird, bad bird |

Cow birds are nasty. They lay their eggs in the nests of other birds. Their eggs hatch first, and the babies push the others out of the nest.

Here are mine. The feeder shots are taken at a distance of 8ft with a 100-400 'L' through the glass of the back door.

Oh, oh - the 100-400 is the lens I am drooling over, but cannot afford. Waaahhhh!
I am planning on putting the new feeder on a stone pillar about 10 ft from my slider and shoot through. We have a LOT of squrrels though :(
Here is a shot of the cardinal building her nest (bear with me - fisrt attempt at the portfolio here)
