Yowza... If that ever becomes reality, say goodbye to cameras the size of dSLRs. They'll only need to be big enough to hold the memory card and the sensor...

weird, that would be cool though...think about it, you could have a 400mm lens that doesn't need its own tripod. On a similar note: one of my photo magazines a while back had someone talking about how they should incoorporate a range finder type item to the camera that would record the distance of different objects within a picture, that way if you wanted to change your DOF you could open the software and say blur everything beyond 3" That would be cool.

Hmmm... before that's applied to cameras, they should work on the glasses, etc.

It would probably take a long while before the technology is perfected enough to make the lens as reliable as a standard one, so my thought is that our trusty SLRs will be around for a while longer.

I do believe it runs on a gas generator.

strange. the bottleneck of a cell phone camera lens is it's sensor, not it's lens........

Bigger sensor = more accurate photon count = less noise = better picture. I don't imagine this technology replacing any pro equipment any time soon...

could allow for much much smaller lenses. I'm not buying it though

I'd just love to have a cellphone with 22Mpixel CMOS and a 17-400 mm L type lens :)

It's great, now they can make a cell phone that takes crystal clear photos. I have an idea....how about a cell phone that makes crystal clear phone calls?

The pizza guy wants you to have that! I can't stand cell phones. People try and order all the time on their cells and they blame you when the call gets dropped or you get their order wrong cause their damn phone don't have a wire and you can't hear but every third word they say...

Be sure and turn the vibrate function off or you will get phone shake.

How about this:
1-3000mm f/0.2 DO ALL FOR ME

How can you adjust the focal length without moving the lens?

I wonder what you could do with an F0.2 lens...smoothe bokeh behind mountains, perhaps?
