Wow. When they upped the storage for our portfolios I thought I'd never fill it, and after some uploads tonight I'm at 99.08% full! Time to clean out some old ones I guess!

you might consider simply uploading smaller images...

i have almost 400 non-challenge images in my port (yeah, i could do some housekeeping, as well), but they are all about 50kb. horizontals are 600-640px, and verts are typically 525-575. every now and then, image quality suffers, but, all the same, for an on-line port, i think they come out ok. and it sure beats having to housekeep all the time.

maybe what you want to do is rather wholesale unload images, replace some of them with smaller versions.

That's a good suggestion, Skip. Out of habit, I tend to always size to the max challenge specs. Slightly smaller and higher compression will help make more room.

One thing that is annoying is the images that are thumbed from portfolios on the forum are replaced with the red x when the images are removed. Not a big deal, but some threads hang around for so long and start to look shabby when so many images are removed.

i know what you mean. it would be nice if there were some 'automated' way to replace an image with a 'micro' image placeholder...
