Has anyone here ever sent anything to get repaired by either the New Jersey or California Service Center? The reason why I'm asking is if they'll send an email and a number to track the repair progress when they get the camera.

Recently we sent in our older digi (G1) into be serviced at the NJ center. After a week of when they should have received it I called them as I had heard nothing. I was told that an estimate had been mailed to me and I should get it soon. I told them I would rather know the damage now over the phone, and approve if not too high. We got the camera back 3 days later, repaired....got the estimate 2 days after that. lol
They had my phone number and email addy but did not contact me with either of those methods. Plan on calling them a week after you ship to them.

Thanks for the reply. I'll make sure I call them on Monday.
Quick question:
I won't be home pretty much all day Monday so I was wondering when I called them what information should I have on hand?
Thanks.

Since I did not have a RMA#, I just gave them my name, the make of the camera, and the date they received it (which I knew through tracking).
They had no problem locating my repair order and then gave me an order number should I need to contact them again.
They did tell me the camera repair would take 7-10 days once I approved the repair, but I actually only had to wait three more days.
