What lens do you prefer to use for macro photography?

i haven't used the tamron 90, but i hear it is very sharp. i think it is too close in price to Canon's 100mm macro, and i'd rather get that.

i really like my sigma 105 though. the autofocus is virtually non-existant but it's super sharp for macro purposes

Sigma 105mm is awesome!

I just bought the 105mm 2.8 macro by Sigma last Thursday and I'm so happy with it.

My Portfolio has a bunch of samples. I left the lens on for two straight days and used it for any and every shot for kicks. Any image that has "Mc" in the title...McGull, McCrab etc. was taken with that lens also Black Crowned, SailorChicks and Dragon Slayer.

you may want to look at current edition of practical photography magazine. They tested the lenses and rated Canon and Nikon with 5/5 and the Tamron and the Sigma 4/5.
