My entry to silhouettes received a DQ request this morning. Can't figure out why. It's a member's challenge, so almost any editing is allowed. Obviously, I can't talk about the photo, but seems to me there is nothing that could scream DQ.
It has already been validated, but I'm still curious... SC?

The validation request wasn't for an editing issue. Sent you a PM. |

There are lots of reasons a person can request DQ. In advanced editing, it is still illegal to remove, move, or create major elements. If a person feels that this could have possibly been done, they can file a request and if we feel the need, we will request proof.
Also, if someone thinks they may have seen the image elsewhere possibly outside the challenge dates, it could be requested for DQ and we may ask for proof to verify dates.

Heather - No disrespect intended, but why was any post following scalverts needed? Just throws potential mystery to this thread...now it's like, hmmm, what was it for?

When I started my post, scalvert hadn't posted yet. We were writing at the same time, and he just happened to squeak in before me. We usually don't give specific reasons as to WHY a request was made, so I was being vague to honor that, but to give the photographer info on why it COULD have happened. |

Thanks. I figured as much.

Heather's post was probably a better idea than my PM (although I was pretty vague, too). The point is that "DQ requests" aren't always for suspicion of illegal editing. |

No biggee - sorry to make a stir. I thought Shannon's post was perfect, send PM, end of the story...let Mario move on in private. I didn't notice your timestamp Heather - so from one Michigander (prior) to another - my bad! ;^)
