Well, to begin with I'm an absolute maroon about websites....I know nothing.
(thanks taterbug, that's the best descriptive term I've seen in forever)
I head out each wkend and take photos of rugby, local events for the community paper. They print 2 or 3 but there are always way more ok shots that never see the light of day. I want a website to put these on, call it 'Round Town' Whangarei and tell people about it. Hopefully they'll go look and won't be able to resist wanting to buy some prints.
I have a very limited budget........well almost non-existant at the present. Is there such a thing as a 'free' one, or nearly free. How do I do it. Is it possible to do a reasonable job with very limited knowledge.
Remember ....words of not too many syllables. I've figured out the photo editing/can set up galleries etc but the website side of things is .... a mystery!
Advice is much needed and would be greatly appreciated.

Mine is just a cheapy: colda.com
Hosting costs me £20 per year and I'm using phpnuke and gallery.
Now it's even easier as there is nukedgallery which combines the two :)

Thanks Darren. Your site looks good and loaded quickly for me, dialup. I've got an online gallery hereIt's a similar layout to your site but I've been using it for all sorts of things.
Hadn't really thought about using it for this.

Though I know nothing about websites, my dad does this kind of thing for a living (actually, excatly what you want to do, except of Hawaii) and could tell you everything you need to know...
but at the moment he is in Los Angeles, but he could send you a PM when he gets back. |

I'm just sitting here looking at the Free Webhost pages getting more confused by the minute. There's an amazing number of people offering free hosting...why?
