| Well, I taxed myself all week to come up with a creative shot. After trying a ton of different shots and setups I threw in the towel and decided to sit this one out... Turns out the every one of my creative ideas is represented in the submissions... Guess I'm not that creative after all.... |

me too... my backyard backs up onto a golf course and I really wanted to get some shots of teeing off with an apple.... but I couldn't get my other half down there to be my model.... What good is a spouse if they won't be your guinea pig? I'm surprised I didn't see anything like that.

Same here. Had a an idea of putting an apple next to an HP sign with a bite taken out. I came home tonight and put this shot together, I took a quick look, didn't see this idea. (could had missed it).

I had an idea of photographing someone batting an apple.. as in baseball.
But then I remembered that I'm not entering open challenges anymore.
lol.

why arent you entering open challenges anymore?
I tend to avoid open challenges in general but i enter once in a while.

A few reasons:
#1 - Far too many entries on average
#2 - Too many users that are registered, and can vote, but either a) haven't entered any challenges b) have never, or rarely commented or participated in anything, c) Have no real commitment or care for the site, and/or d)all of the above.
#3 - I haven't been inspired by the challenge themes as of late
I'm sure that once in a blue moon, a topic will come up that'll make me say.. "oooo.. ok, I'll enter that one!" but, like you, I'll be avoiding them for the most part.. and definitely won't be going out of my way to shoot for them.
P.S. I am *not* singling anyone out here.. please don't feel that if you haven't commented or posted to the forums or entered challenges that I *automatically* think that you aren't committed to DPC.. but I do believe there are a great number of people who are exactly what I say.. so.. don't take this as a *personal* attack please :)

I am out to since at the last minute i was going to try to play around with an apple but noticed there where no apples around the house...
So i will just sit back and hope to have something for the next challenge. :)
