my first vote was an 8
it seems when my first votes are high, my avg vote constantly drops over time, where as when i have low votes in the beginning, the avg vote rises over time. do people that vote later in the week always vote 5?

o.k i've had a couple of comments on my image about sharpening it, and the sharpening seems to have ruined it.... o.k it may not be the best image, but i DID NOT sharpen it, sometimes when you convert colour to b/w it tends to produce a halo effect... aghhh!!
o.k.. got that off my chest.... |

nope i checked.. i think i just had it on the wrong setting thats all, and when i have converted it to b/w it gave off the halo effect... i did sharpen it, but didn't like it , so i got rid of it....the halo effect is called Mackie Lines and they occur in situations like this where you have very strong contrast between light and dark...not as obvious in colour as in B&W...

This is just wrong.. same thing for the "Outside looking in" and ended up at 5.6 ish.. Glad some people can enjoy my work.

Another solid 5 that will go down. I promised myself not to enter a challenege just for the sake of entering but I must admit I had some fun with the shot even if I have no big expectations.
My average will go down again.

I am so sad. My first challenge I expected low scores. It was not a good photo, but I wanted to try. The second one, I got average and learned more what people vote for. This one I was original, technically on, and used a vibrant color for the background and my scores suck! I have even posted this on another site for critique and they really liked it :(

I was wondering if b/w would do well in this challenge and decided to stay away from trying it since it can easily be seen as using it to darken a silhouette, I've seen one sofar, clearly showing a light at the front of image.
Started out at 5.2ish falling fast now

This is my second challenge entry. The first one I did not expect to do great, as I had issues with resizing and keeping the image sharp after the resizing.
I really like this second entry of mine and thought it would do fairly well...so far not true:
