Bolivia is a beautiful country, travel is cheap, and the photographic possibilities are endless.

Personally, I'm looking forward to getting out to Utah, like to Lake Powell, Bryce Canyon, etc. I think this would be an awesome place to spend a week or so with nothing but a tent and a camera :)

If you are going to come to the States, and you've already seen Califofnia and the west, you should come and visit the East Coast. Start at Washington and work your way north to Philadelphia, NYC, Boston, at least a day or two in Maine and then a few days for Canada's coastal provences. That would take you to our most historic cities and then into some less populated areas with beautiful scenery that are still geared to tourism. And you would also be avoiding the excessive heat of the South in the summertime.

Tetons and Yellowstone... that's the place to see scenery, wildlife, geysers, mountains, and much more.

My recomendation...Say Yes to Michigan! Why go places that everyone has already over explored? Michigan in August is awesome. We have lighthouses, the Soo Locks, Tahquamenon falls, sand dune, beaches, shipwrecks, the Mighty Mackinaw bridge, Mackinaw Island, the Great Lakes, etc... We have lots to see and do. There are many resorts, casinos and golf courses when you need a rest, and you'll get to learn the difference between a yooper and a troll! :)

I would really like to reply to all these ideas but.........
Thank you all so much for replying - we are busy searching the net now to try and book something up.
I'll let you know what we decide and hopefully post some pics when we get back later in the summer (heavily edited to take out any of me that don't make me look at least 10 years younger and 30lbs lighter!)

Thanks again

Go to Newfoundland..u can get a cheap flight from the east coast of the US.

P.S. Canada only has 10 wee province names for y'all to remember, if you don't know where Newfoundland is then...then.....get a map.

I have been on a few trips within the USA several years back, Las Vegas, The Rocky Mountains, Texas, Florida to name a few. But nothing even came close to the 11 day Glacier bay cruise, Alaska. Absolutely amazing. We left port in Seattle.

did you say you cant come to australia or you could? We are having some lovely weather at the moment, but i do warn you that your summer is our winter. But our winters are so much milder compared to yours. Average day temp is between 10- 15, not sure what that it is to you. I think about in the 60's? Could be wrong.
Lots to see and do here, beautiful food, people, and atmosphere. You could easily have a great time in a 2 week period.

Northern California copast from San Simeon up through the Redwood Country, then inland to Mount Shasta and environs. Gives you Big Sur, possibly the greatest meeting of land and sea on earth, Gives ya Carmel and the missions, Monterey and the Aquarium, San francisco and the Golden gate, Mendocino, Redwood forests in the mists, then over to inland and the area around Shasta with active geothermal springs of astonishing colors (hike into Bumpass hell from the road)... Youc an even, if you choose, roll down from Shasta to deat Valley and the high Nevada desert, winding up at Hovver Dam...
