Hello everyone. I live/work in Illinois during the week and go visit my wife and step-daughter in KY on the weekends so it is rare that I would be able to do a get together and has been too long since I've been at the Chicago Botanical Gardens....BUT...
This coming Sunday the 22nd I cannot go home to my family and was going to go to the gardens and thought how cool it would be to have a get together with some DPC'ers.
As you can tell from my portfolio of submitted challenges I need help with my images...my better ones from the gardens can be found on my website under the flowers section...so please don't think you have to be a pro to come.

I think it is still $12.00 a car full to park and free to the rest of the gardens. They have small shops and a food area too. We could meet at a small mall down the street and pile in my outback or whatever.
I'm thinking first thing in the morning but of course the weather will determine a lot of that.
Just an idea and I'm not sure who would all want to do it. I'll most likely be there anyway but wanted to extend the invite.

| Sounds like fun. I would be interested in a GTG, but I have friends visiting from out of town that weekend so, at this moment, I'm not quite sure what my schedule will be. |

Well I'll put that down as a might be, maybe, if I can, sort of. Lol. I'll be there anyway (weather permitting) and may be bringing a friend that has been wanting to get out and shoot again.
Would like to meet some of these people (and get some much needed tips)

| Aargh. I was just there yesterday but it never hurts to go back. Like milo655321 I have friends who are coming into town this weekend but I may see them earlier than Sunday so put me in as a maybe too. It depends also if I can bum a ride - I am carless this weekend. I need to reshoot some stuff anyway. I will know more toward the end of the week. |

I just saw your botanical pic on your website...was that yesterday? Looks good. You should see my shot of that area during a snow fall a couple years ago...wonderful. Just pm me if you do want to and I'll try and set up a centralized location for meeting.
on a side note: Last night about 930ish while coming home from KY I passed by the fountain downtown and saw a man taking a pic of the fountian similar to yours from the late night challenge but from across the street and had to wonder if it was you or not...may never know.

As for the Buckingham Fountain fellow, he wasn't me, but he could also be pitsaman who shot this winning entry:
or other Chicago area/midwest DPCers :-) (too many to state here, but they know who they are).
We did have a grand eyeball last summer. It's about time we did the same again. |

Well it looks like I may have one confirmed member going...anyone else? I'll leave my email open for most of the evening if you want to pm me...as far as I know I won't have computer access tomorrow. I gave my phone number to Milo65532 and flip89 if anyone needs to contact me for info, otherwise maybe they can give you info.

Maybe I'm just missing it, but has a date actually been suggested yet? I would love to do a Chicago GTG as I just moved here on Monday and I don't know anyone yet.
Also, I've tried messaging this question to individuals, but I have yet to get a response I actually understand: what the heck does "bump" mean???

Send an e-mail to sabphoto. So far it looks like him, myself and flip89. I'd have to check with sabphoto, but we were just deciding on a time this coming Sunday.
1) sabphoto and flip90, I think later in the morning would be great. Let's decide.
2) flip89 or saiphfire, if you need a ride from the city, I can do that. flip89, I believe we don't live too far from each other. My car is small and clunky, but it'll fit three. Send me a PM.

Thanks Lemondster, that explanation was much clearer than the others I've gotten.
Sabphoto PMed me and gave me his phone number so I'll call him.
Milo, I would be interested in carpooling because I don't know where it is. Probably depends on where you live in the city, though. I can drive if you want because I just got a new car and I'm still excited about it. Could you PM me and let me know where in Chicago you are?

its rare that I'm here over the weekend but you never know, keep your eyes open and I'm sure there will be. We'll miss you, have a good day.

i'm sorry i missed this thread until now. while i wouldn't have been able to come this weekend, there were a few rumblings about a northern midwest GTG later this summer.
so, who's in?
