I know DPC members in general will not like this, but oh well.
Pic 1
I think you will mostly all like this.
Pic 2
Thanks for looking.

Pic 2 rocks. Well done. I like to see it done with the bride in the foreground and groom in the background ... way back... out of focus but looking at the bride.
Dig it? |

And vice versa, then you have a pair of print sales. =)
#2 is very nice. Don't care for #1 honestly, and it has nothing to do with being a DPC member. ;)

The second one is a great shot. Nice "filler" shot for their album. |

Pic 1 Rocks. Catches the mood of the event using colours to represent all the feelings. Pic 2. Ummm, yah. That too in a sarcastic way.
Looked again. Pic 1. Pic 2, catches no emotion.

I like #2, the low angle make the whole front of the church seem huge even though it is far away and the whole aisle seem like a very long walk to marriage for the bride. My wife always said that one of her biggest fears during the ceremony was falling over during the processional.
#1 I'm not a big fan of, but mainly because there seems to be an area of the groom's head that is bluish. I think the technique has promise though. |

The important thing is: will the bride and groom like it?

Yes Paul - this is my style and they hired me for it, so they will like it. I said dpc members won't generally like it because of the heavy treatment and generally it looks like I guessed right (self fulfilling prophecy? I dunno). Anyways, I like these two shots both - one for showing the architecture and one for showcasing the filter style/contrast stuff that we use during weddings. Thanks all for looking!

I'm not opposed to your approach in general; I do a lot of that sort of thing myself. But in the particular instance you have a weird effect above his mouth, the half-a-moustache thing. I'd liek to see that minimized or eliminated, to be honest. Otherwise, I think it's great if they are happy with it. Certainly, *I* like it...

Actually, I can. I knew where mav was coming from with that statement, because as he stated a lot of DPCers don't like over-processed looks.
My reason for not caring for the photo, was based off of having experience shooting weddings and portraits, not because I'm a DPC member.
I like processed treatments, if used appropriately. In the case of #1, I don't see where it adds anything to the photo. The eyes need to be dodged or something, because the right one is almost completely black. There are just a lot of strange shadows that I'd personally clean up. I just think this one needs some work compared to #2.
However, it doesn't matter what I think, it matters what the client thinks. From the sounds of it, the client will like this type of photo. That's what matters, go sell some prints! =)

lol
Ok ok - first of all, I agree in specific about the half-moustache and the eyes. I did up the 1st picture as a "quick-show" before I went to bed (posted: 12:44am after a long day lol).
Second of all, I said what I did about DPC members in general not because it's "good" or "bad" but because it "is." I know the type of shot that people here mostly like - and 2 is it, 1 isn't. That varies per person of course, but it's was my disclaimer.
Third - I will probably not keep this particular edit - I was just having fun with it - but yes they generally do like heavy edit, high contrast colorful and high contrast b/w shots.
