"Red bars in voting statistics - what do they mean?"

Every now and then I come across a photo with red bars measuring the votes. What do they mean?

Here are two examples:

The red bar is what you voted.

The red bar is what you voted on the image.

Heh, too slow!

Should say right above the red bars "Voting Breakdown (your vote is highlighted in red)" ;)

Edit: Egad, I'm even slower.
