Technically, donuts kill more people than guns. Apples are hard to find these days, I wonder if an apple pie thingy from McDonalds counts......

The availability of guns at walmart made the news back in 1996:

"Ironically, even though Sheryl's sound is considered refreshing at a time of gangsta rap and sexual overtones, Sheryl's latest LP was banned by the Wal-Mart stores due to a reference ("Watch our children as they kill each other with a gun they bought at the Wal-Mart discount stores") on the track, "Love Is A Good Thing" about buying a gun at the chain store."

That song "Love is a Good Thing" has in my opinion the all-time BEST scream on a rock song... it'll make the hair on your neck stand up!

Well, I got my apple shot submitted. ... It didn't work out the way I planned, which is too bad, but I was more interested in living. So, unfortunately I didn't get the funny shot I was after. Oh well, I still have use of both of my legs, and that's what counts!

OK. This I gotta see.
*wonders what on earth would endanger Slippy's legs*
Hmmmmmmm. I'm not sure I like the sounds of this....

He was trying to upset an apple cart and it got away from him and ran him down. The feeling in his legs will be back in less than a week, according to an anonymous source in his household.

Challenge says: "Take an apple (the fruit, not a computer!) anywhere, do anything you like to it, but make the shot your own."

You have to be an active actor in what happens to the apple before you take a photo of it. McDonald's apple pies don't count, unless you personally picked it off the tree, mashed it up, made a crust, put the mash inside the crust, put that in the oven, froze it after it baked, boxed it, drove the delivery truck to the outlet, microwaved it, etc, etc, etc.

You mean my shot of the slurry vat at the cider bottler won't meet the challenge? Sigh...

Unless you picked the apple, washed it, diced it, pressed it, bottled it, dropped yeast, etc, etc, etc then "no."

[quote] I actually risked my life for the shot, well, physical well-being at least. It didn't work out the way I planned, which is too bad, but I was more interested in living. I had a vision of an apple lying under a tree wearing a Wig-Newton, and you falling from a high branch to the ground - thus proving the theory of something or other! Um - Gravity? - Naw, can't use that word around here. How about The Theory of Levity?

Can't wait to hear the Real Story!

Anyone caught mutilating an apple will be punished to the full extent of the law.

Outside of slicing there should be no puncturing, no drilling nor squashing. Please, no pins and do not throw the apple against the sky and avoid the Newton Apple.
