I suggest adding "Sticky" to the list of thread options (watch/ignore/e-mail/clear). A sticky thread will always stay on the front page and will always show up before other threads (except perhaps admin-sticky threads - were they to exist). Limiting the displayed sticky threads to something reasonable (half the displayed threads preference maybe) might be good too.
Perhaps this was the intention of watched threads in the first place, but they fall off the page so fast that I just use the watch option now for threads I might want to reference in future or that contain useful information (I look at my watched list before doing a search in certain cases).

Great idea!
I'd like to add this to it: to UNstick it, please let me just untick a button instead of needing to open the thread, then find the menu, then click clear, then get back to where I was. |

Sticky Threads already exist as an admin option, but they're seldom used. If opened to the public, I think many people would want THEIR thread to appear at the top, and there would be chaos. |

Except I think what's meant here is that it would only appear on your personal screen. User specific. I log on to your account and see the threads that you want to keep tabs on. I log onto mine, and I see mine. Maybe not have it on the front page, but under "My Profile".

Yes, I meant the obvious thing, as atsxus surmised.
My motivation for the suggestion was mainly for GTG-type threads, but also for other topics of great interest that sometimes fall off the front page (or community page).

Yeah, that would probably be even better, although I can see a benefit to making a distinction between watched and sticky.
