I have found in the past that creativity is affected greatly by my moods.
In the past, I often came up with my best work (not always photography) when I was 'down'. Meaning, I was withdrawn into myself more, and it gave me a greater focus on my creative project.
Lately being 'down' kills my creativity, it's funny to look at my scores through each challenge and remember in what state of mind I was in.
My highest score was one of my happiest times, carefree and secure. I had a bad experience recently however, and it shows: my 'outside in' entry is one of my worst to date.
Anyhow, any input on how your moods affect your creativity? |

It is an interesting correlation you are trying to explore. I would agree that for me personally, when I feel the most creative, is when I am at peace and pleased with the world around me, and feel the need to express this in an artistic fashion. But I also make it a point to truly live "in" the wonder that constantly surrounds us and that is why photography is great. I may not ever really be down (flaw or blessing, I don't know), but I am occasionally melancholic and this makes my excitement for photography follow suit. But the best times are when I force myself to go here or do that and that is when I have shot the best stuff or met the best people in my life. So no, it is never too late to get philosophical, at least in my opinion.

I dabble in several creative venues and find my moods affect each differently. I play guitar in a band and write music, and when I'm 'down' is when I'm usually inspired to write new stuff, and my playing is strongest. Photography, I'm usually in the mood to mess with when I'm feeling good. I also write movie screenplays, and I guess I give more time and energy to that when I'm not really either up or down. Hmmm.

interesting.
which leads me to think, how many photographers on DPC do other creative things other than photos, and where do they get their inspirations from for each?
