I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I can't find it in the forum.
I have only just taken up photography as a hobby in recent months, and have found this site a MASSIVE inspiration for me to get out there are try out different styles and techniques for my own collection (not sure at what point I can call this a 'portfolio'??)
The one area of experimentation I'm yet to try is people. Everyone in my family and friend circles seem camera shy! I also want to try some semi-nude shots, maybe re-create some advertising shoots as practice. At this point my family and friends loose ALL interest in my hobby!
How do/did you guys approach the task of finding something that is willing to help out with your creative process? Short of putting an ad in the paper offering 20 quid, I don't know what to do. Goes without saying my intenitions are totally photogrophic and that's where it ends! I'm not out to make a name for myself as a pornographer...very frustrating!

I started out with family members, but unlike your situation, my sister is both pretty and anxious to have her picture taken.
And my skills have rapidly increased in my seemingly monthly shoots with her. After having a few pictures of her printed off, she showed her friends and I told all my friends that if they model for me, they'd get a copy of any prints that go into my portfolio. Seemed to work great for me, I've already shot 4 other girls in their own shoots, one of them twice.
Do you have any friends that would help you? |

Most pretty girls LOVE to have their photos taken! At MC shows people are always asking my wife or employees to pose with the bikes and the women are happy to do it.
