This I have noticed on and off for the last month or so, while voting on a challenge the whole site stops dead for a minute or even 2 sometimes.
Very frustrating.
The prob usually goes away after a few images , or a ten minute wait.
more often now I do something else instead.
Anyone else.
I am in New Zealand, on a good broadband connection, the rest of the web zips along fine.

Does it seem to happen consistently at 4 AM DPChallenge time?
I suspect there might be some type of scheduled job that happens then.

I've not seen a pattern, but then I've not been looking. I'll note down the times next time.

At 1AM PST (Left Coast for ya'll over there) the site always hangs.
I would assume database compacting/crunching. Takes about 2-3 minutes tops.
(Maybe I should be in bed at 1AM and not worry huh?) |

I've definately noted the exact four am thing - that's kind of amusing actually, but it doesn't seem to be a conspiract theory :).
I've also noted random slow downs at other time, that seem to happen far more with dpc than any other web site (of course I'm also on dpc more than most other sites !). |
