Last week I spent the week in training, and had lots of fun too. Wish you were there too :)

Bird banding (gray-cheeked thrush)
Netting bats (evening bat)
catching snakes (diamond-backed watersnake)
and the reptiles (red-eared turtle)
watching birds (ruby-throated)
catching mammals (white-footed mouse)
seining fish (an old ugly one)

I was at the Tara Wildlife Refuge north of Vicksburg. The class was Natural Resource Evaluation Technics. As a field biologist, its part of my work to evaluate wildlife, wetlands and habitat impacts for environmenal assessments. This was about 50% field work. Luckily no mosquitoes, chiggers, or ticks; cool temperatures and humidity; and no poison ivy reaactions this trip. :)

Thanks for the comments!
