I'd love to see some samples, preferably full sized.
Anybody here have one? I don't see it on the lens list.

Some samples for you. Looks like a nice lens. Also see the review on Askey's site. |

I don't have the Tamron 18-200mm lens but I just bought the Sigma 18-200mm and it's a very nice lens, it seems quite sharp at all focal lengths.
If you wish to compare any Tamron sample pictures you find with the Sigma, here is the thread where I posted quite a few sample pics I took with the Sigma 18-200:

To me, the Sigma samples looked better which is why I went with the Sigma 18-200; also I have the Sigma 18-125 and it's a great lens.

Wow, when did you upgrade from the FZ20? I see that upgrade from the FZ10 didn't last long! ;-)
I have the Tokina 24-200mm lens which is just superb, and I have the added benefit of being able to use it on my 35mm Minolta body. |

Thanks everybody.
Justine, I saw those ones, but the photographer said he didn't keep the lens, because he found the Sigma better. They're not bad though.
Sammy, thanks for the posts. I'll definitely keep my eye out for the Sigma. No stores in Montreal seem to have them yet. Soon, I hope. Seem pretty decent.
Bob, I started looking at these super zooms because of the Tokina 24-200. I've heard GREAT things about it. I also like it for the film advantage you mentioned. Unfortunately, there are no Tokina retailers in Canada, that I know of, so I'm hesitant to order something from the U.S. sight unseen. Could get costly if I don't like it and want to return it. It's also a MUCH heavier and larger lens. The Sigma and Tamron are quite compact and light. This is good for me because, after all, I'm looking to buy this as a "bring just one" kind of lens on family outings.
Thanks again.
