So first off a question to answer. I got the flower to stand up in the water by digging a little hole with my finger in the mud. I then place the stem in the hole and push more mud up against the stem to help hold it. Yes I wish the water was more calm as well but...
Anyway, on to the story. There are three little lakes just outside of town and one large one. I decided to go to the smaller ones knowing it would be easier to just walk down to the water and try to make something work. When I pulled up to the lake there was another car parked in the pull out with me but there was no one around. I thought this was a little strange but just figured they had car trouble and pulled off the road and left the car there. So I went about my business got the shots I wanted and left.
A few days later I was reading in the paper about how a local woman had gone missing and was reported so on Sun night. The story went on to talk about how her body was found in a lake. They spotted it by flying over the lake. They decided to look around this area because her car had been found just off the road.
Things started to process in my head at this point. Hey, I was at a lake, and there was a car parked next to me, so I look again at the lakes location and sure enough it was at the lake where I was at. I was there at the lake on Mon morning, the morning after she was reported missing. They found her car on Tue, and her body shortly after. So then I realized that while I was splashing around on the shore line trying to take and image, some lady's dead body was in the water not too far from me. Needless to say I found this a bit freeky. I guess she had suffered from mental illness and committed suicide.
I could go both ways. I wish I might have seen her body so they could have found her sooner, and yet I am glad I did not see her floating there dead as well. In any case it just made me think about how many things are going around in the world right next to you, and you don't even realize it.
This was the image...

Eww!!! Creepy! Atleast they didn't take a mold of your tire markings and track you down, thinking you had something to do with it... you didn't leave your flower there did you, that would have looked even creepier!

Actually I did throught the flower out into the lake when I was done. Now that I know what I know, it seems sort of symbolic to me. Still weird though. |

Now just take a second and think about the image you took and the situation.
How much symbolism comes from that. Thats something else.

Strange things do happen in life. I have thought about that type of thing when I'm out and about in the woods, lakes, ect/ thinking there possibaly a dead body lieing around close. People do die this way. Here in my town, the police/poeple find about 3-4 bodys in creeks a year...I often have walked those banks. I have to noctice the flower you shot. I believe it's ironic as one can tell from the story and at the time you shot it and not knowing...there is great irony and symbolism of the single flower standing in the water near the woman found in the lake. |

So, if you did find her, would you have taken some photos?

I usually take a walk in the mountains, or woods don't know how to name it.. it's a mountain that is filled with trees.. this is a huge place... it go's from one village to another... it is a natural park but opened to people... and a long time ago there was this boy that desapeared in these mountains and his body was never found to this day.. I usually take lonely walks to this mountain because it is just behind my house.. and when i am there in the woods any sound i hear i freak out... so sometimes i don't go really far since i get affraid of going farther... it is a really strange feeling.
Yours it is a great story, how do you feel when you look at the photo now that, that day turned out to be somehow strange.

I guess all I really think about is how strange it was that there was a dead body not too far from me that no one knew was there. This image probably woul have just been another image that I would sort of forget about and never really look at again, but now it seems to pop into my mind every now and then.
