I'm sure you all know those power-point presentations that are being forwarded in the mail all over the globe.
Friends of mine know that I only accept photography-related forwarded mail. Lately, I have been getting more then a few presentations of that sort, with photos that I have seen before. I am sure that at least some of those photos I have seen right here at DPC !
Those forwarded are very hard to trace, nor they can be stopped, as you probbly know.
I was wondering what do you think about those. Don't you think there's an issue of copyright here? after all, if the photos are all over the world right now, what use is it to send them as numbered prints?
Does this mean everything has to be stock photography now?
Or perhaps those forwarded mails don't have any affect on the actual prints? or... what?

Yes, there is an issue of copyright, such is the way of the internet. What can we do about it, well, very little other than watermark the images or make them too small to be usable.
I think you're misunderstanding the definition of stock photography, which does not mean "images up for grabs for free", but rather images available for use, most likely, at a price. |
