I have a camera Canon S1 IS, which does not have a hotshoe, nor a socket to fix a flash.
Is there a way I can use an external flash with this camera?

I suppose you could trigger a softbox slave with the onboard flash, but that creates its own problems.

If it has an internal flash, and you use it at a slow enough shutter speed, you may be able to use the camera flash to slave the softbox, but you're gonna have a problem directing that flash away from the subject.

Robt.

Damn you Calvert! LOL.

He could try mounting a white card at an agle in front of the on-cam flash and deflect its light up to the ceiling perhaps...
