Hi All,

I am planning a trip to Glacier National Park for late this summer and am looking for suggestions from people who have been there on where to go and what to see (and photograph!) I'll probably spend some time on the Going to the Sun Road and around the typical "touristy" areas but also want to get off the beaten path. I want to do some backpacking and back country camping, but I don't know which areas are the most scenic, or best for wildlife. What are your favorites? Any suggestions are appreciated!

Can't really tell you what to see but you got my attention. It just happens that I work for company named Glacier and my initials are NP.

If you get a chance, Kintla Lake -

is one of the most beautiful places in the world. You'd need to schedule pretty much a whole day for it, it's a loooong ways up a dirt road (beautiful drive, though) and once you're there they do have a small campground, or you can hike a few miles to Upper Kintla, which is every bit as spectacular and quite remote. Well worth the hike.

It's also beautiful to head up to Waterton (which is just over the border in Canada, but sort of joined with Glacier Park) and take the tour boat ride down the lake and stop and see the Prince of Wales hotel.

You'll love it, no matter where you wind up. I've hiked into many places in the backcountry in Glacier - if you have any specific questions, feel free to send me a sitemail. :)

Great picture Jodie! Kintla lake is now on my must-see list.

Thanks!
