Hey everyone,

I've quite pleased with my 10th place in the Jewelry Challenge, as i've learned a lot in this past 2 weeks. My question here tho, is if my other 'shots' would've sported better results perharps?

I like your submission best because of the angle of the watch face and the variety of the rock colors.

I too like the original.

I didn't comment on this one, but i scored it quite high, an 8 I think. Had I commented, I'd have said that the awkward andle of, and lighting on, the foreground watchband are the only technical flaws in this otherwise extremely well-executed image. I'd also have commented that it would have looked better with the watch hands at the standard "10 past 10", exposing all of the manufacturer's logo.

Nice job!

I did comment on the band, but I hadn't thought of the watch hands themselves. Good catch.

I voted your submission a 7.
- watch hands were hiding a logo - noone would advertise this way. It did not have to be 10:10 although all expect that. Your followup #2 has a very nice hands outline.

But, I still like your sumbission the best and here is why:
followup #1: too much contrast between the watch and the lightly colored pebbles.
followup #2: not enough contrast between the watch and the pebbles - the watch does not stand out, it is a part of the busy black image.
followup #3: nice, but the perspective is better in your original submission.

Still prefer the first one. It just feels better than the others. It feels more balanced with the colours.

Still a nice shot and great to see it in top 10.

Compared to the other outtakes I still like the one you submitted most for those reasons srdanz mentioned.

The hands not showing the logo makes it more interesting imho, keeps you guessing :p

All those 10:10 watch advertisment shots feels like spitted out from one of those charlie chaplin industial machines.. and thats still funny in its own way I guess :p

I think this should have ribboned in this challenge, but then I'm maybe not like your average voter..

Still I gave it a 9 and not a 10.. A greater DOF would be nicer here.. and I didn't care for the text too much either..

Otherwise like I said.. Really nice shot.
