This I took today at Palmerston North,But try whatever, I can't cut the distance haze and increase clarity.
How can it be done in Photo shop, Or what filter should I have used at the scene

Hi Tasha. This is a very interesting rolling landscape and you've done a good job of capturing it. As for the haze, I think that adds to the image rather than takes away. I guess, you will have to wait for the appropriate weather/light conditions to avoid it. In PS you could try selecting the background or apply some sort of gradient mask and then change the hue of the mountains away from the blue as well as increasing contrast a touch. IMO the foreground could do with the most work as it seems quite dark esp. the bottom right corner. Keep up the good work. Ben |

The easiest way I know to reduce haze is with Unsharp Mask. Just set the Radius to a high number (30 to 50) and the amount to a low number (10-40). The numbers will be different for each image so you'll just have to play with them or fade the layer afterwards.

Try using levels - if you move the white point in, the image should clear up. I used this on soupy fog in my images of Halifax and worked pretty well.
Good luck!

A little burning on the hills may help to darken them. |

had a go at it ..
using RGB->CYMK,
a gradient mask allowing the top third to be worked on,
curves , cyan dropped in hilights, yellow boost magenta boosted(tiny bit) & K pushed hard
then CYMK->RGB
note: the preexisting shapening in the distance

I am in no way an expert(not even close ;)) here but IMO
to me the photo still has the haze its just a different color. the grass is more brown now(i personaly liked the greener grass better)and i did notice the sharpening in the orginal...just a little more noticable now. will someone please address my question of white point and how to "move it"

Are you using photoshop?
If so, go to image, adjust, levels. The top slider is the input. On the right hand side is the white point. Slide it to the left. You may have to move the center arrow back toward the right when adjusting as otherwise your image will be lighter.
If necessary, go into contrast and up it a bit. Since it is only in the back, you may want to do just that part using layers.
Good Luck!

OK, I'll take a whack at it... this is about 5-6 minutes of work.
Edits:
- Gradient mask, reveal upper 1/3
> USM, R=80, Amt=30, Threshold=0
> Curves, adjust contrast, pull in black point for blue & green
- Gradient mask, reveal only farthest peaks
> USM, R=0.4, Amt=50, Threshold=3
> Curves, darken slightly
> Gaussian blur, 0.4px radius, faded to 30% in luminosity mode
> Deselect all
- Curves, bring out red a bit (warm it up)
- Hue/sat slight adjustment on greens and overall saturation (slight boost)
- Gradient mask, lower right corner revealed
- Curves, bring up brightness slightly in this area
- Deselect all
- USM, R=0.3, Amt=60, Thresh=0
- Gaussian blur, 3.0px, fade to 30% in luminosity mode
- Done

Hey thanks everybody, I'm in New Zealand so I just got up (2.20Pm server time) and 10 replies, lots to try.
Sorry that I didn't use the original, as my clumsy efforts before affected your efforts to cure it.
Thanks a million.
I'll try all your tips.
