Can anyone point me towards where I might find some good noise reduction actions for photoshop?

I'm sure this probably has been posted before, I would search through the previous forum posts but the search facility seems to be disabled at the moment.

Thanks,
Nordic.

I remember a thread where somebody suggested using multiple layers with transparency to get rid of noise. Of course, that's not allowed for DPC.

I have a number of old images taken a few years ago, small in size and very noisy I would like to try to improve. I have read that a software programe called DFINE (£79 in UK)works well.

Just wondered if anyone has created any photoshop actions that will do a similar job (and a lower cost!).

Hmmm... I have noise ninja, which works pretty well and was about 30 dollars US.

Have you tried the Google-powered search that has been provided in its place? It actually works better than the built-in search.

I'm not sure about that -- hits are not organized, multiple hits to the same threads, resultant threads sorted by googles standards not chronologically and for some reason the default seems to be to list the threads backwards when linked from google. I haven't found it that useful -- it was easier to find a specific thread with the search we had before.

/edit: just for the heck of it I searched with the provided link but came up empty handed with google -- using the same feature at altavista came up with the thread with the method colda mentioned (Shh....it's a secret -> Noise Reduction)
