We have a little storm coming in toward San Francisco tonite and I was up at Rodeo Beach today in Marin just to the north. The waves were breaking fairly well and there were a lot of excellent surfers out. There is a cliff just at the right end of the beach which allowed me a good overview. This is the first time I have attempted anything like sports photography. Unfortunately, it was a little cloudy, so the best I could get was 1/650 second on my exposure without going above ISO 100.
I would appreciate any comments as I am breaking new ground for myself here.

Hi William,
Funny I see something relating to surf today, and wish I were up there right now. That is quite a shot there. Perspective is great!
I'm on a kick right now processing some surfing
pics and have a little different approach to mine:

Very nice shot William. Hope you didn't mind but I wanted to see what it would look like with some adjustments. What do you think?

Brad,
I love the panned shots, especially the third.
SDW65,
I guess I am a little timid. You really beefed my shot up. Thanks.

whager, I think Scott's color looks a little more natural. Your bottom pic is unnaturally green looking; I think the transition from green to a darker color at bottom of the wave gives it some punch. I love the surfer shots! What a giant wave..! Brad's give a great sense of speed.

You are quite right dragonlady. I had increased the exposure when converting from raw for surfer2. Hopefully, this one is okay.
