In the advance editing rules can I change the colour of a plain white background to another colour?
Using colour/saturation or dodge and burn or exposure/ lighting?

In pretty much all cases in the past, such changes have been upheld. As long as the BG is plain to begin with, and the change does not include "adding detail", but rather just shifting the color, it should be fine.
