Are these any good? What would you do to change it if it ain't any good?
How would this have scored in the abandoned challenge?

Is that the moire effect in the first one ?

The textures on the chimney in the first one are very interesting. You've got the exposure right to bring this out. However the building in the background I feel takes away from the image. Maybe a different perspective of the chimney would work.

The third and fourth ones to me are well exposed and the composition works very well. The colours look very natural. What may make the fourth one better is to either crop more of the foreground or the sky or both. The third one may be cropped a little too close to the roof of the building.

I like the first two the best, the color of the brick in the first one is very nice, and the compostion of the first two has more impact then the others. The second one I wonder if there was just a bit much light on the front of the buildiing though.

Sorry for the ignorance but what is moire effect... It might not be since i don't know what it is hehe... Lots to learn still.

Leon is referring to the pattern of stripes within the individual bricks. Is that the real pattern on the bricks? If not, there is probably a pattern that's close to the pixel pitch that is being aliased, that is, a moire pattern is being created.
Here is a link, it's not the best example I have seen, but the best I can dig up at the moment.

I got it... no it was not that pattern that the bricks had so i guess i did something i didn't know that existed... hehe...
Another thing learnt today.. thanks.
